On World Dance Day 2018: sharing insightness and depth of Dance



When there is a day of Dance, it’s always a chance to think deep about it. Being a survivor by Dance, it always reminds me to take Dance very aptly and applicable to our life. It’s so true that in dance, we actually do not perform extraordinary, rather we perform ourselves. Dance may come to us in vary many ways. Some may like it and some may not. But Dance is not bounded by any limitation neither by anybody. Celebrating a day for dance is usually not necessarily dependent on any history or memory. Rather, I suppose, it’s a day for all who commemorate Dance from their own thought and spirit. It’s a day for those who respects Dance, accept dancing as an art. The supreme medium of abstractness and artistic category of art is the Dance where not only body and mind is used but also is very smoothly controlled. That knowledge is not only about skills but few lore, detailed history and development through out of ages.
What I feel is that tradition is tough and sometimes showed the toughest phase to accept a way.  Dance is broader than this. In fact, Dance is always a way that helps to accept and acquire courage to face any problem-either depression or any health issue. As because it has both physical exercise and rhythmic input, it can be said as rhythmic exercise. A tradition cannot define Dance simply but a Dance can. Besides, Dance is also a strong medium to express and make realize many necessary aspects of survival. Body is important to perform any kind of dance or expression. More important is to feel the body: protect it, love it and covered it from injuries. By Dance one can promote fame, self-confidence, fortune and cleverness. Gradually it gives rise to peace, liberality, pleasure and does away from despondency.  Once we attain these, we blessed by the supreme soul and that experience is the ultimate purpose of a dancer too. This is due to the poses that a dance contains in its curriculum-Bending and square sized position etc.bring agility and endurance to the body. The ideal exercises and their attributes build up stamina and help the person to acquire patience. Specifically, the movements that are governed by a Tala and Laya and the calculations involved in counting the beats in different gait and rhythm.
There are many aspects of learning a Dance. But one should not learn a dance to become a dancer. Rather, she should try to co-relate the term (any term of Dance lesson) into her real life, practical it and attain it into daily norms, solve puzzles from Dance-realisation and thus be happy with the exceptions and accidental breaking co-herence happens in life!
One thing I must admit that Dancing capacity has influential effect on fighting spirit. When we do the most intricate steps the dancer keeps her abdomen pulled tightly in, her mouth closed her chest forward and the posture erect, all of which are positive points for the increasing of the lung capacity of a person. A scientific study reveals that during dancing, the heart beats faster in order to meet the demands of muscles at that time. These two contrasting actions give additional benefits of supplying increased oxygenated blood. The mystery of the effect of music and rhythm on the heart beat cannot be denied, because it is something that everyone feels and has experienced. Due to its effect on mind and a probable effect of resonance on the heart rhythm, the heart rate decreases and clams down. I assure it as I personally experienced it. It was the year when critical health issues decreased the life span day by day. I still remember, when intolerable sounds on ear (doctors call this as a hyper equisite) and I invited finally a restless state of mind. It was unbearable because I was kept at ICU and sedation due to my restlessness and painful wounds!! Where all organs fail to react and unbelievably, I could recover by external care, support and therapy. When, it was too difficult to move a single move of my body, my physiotherapists were so depressed!! But they clapped when I started doing rhythm on my body over music. This was a music from the collection of my Dance album. Important was, I moved my body without any command from any body. There has been stopped physiotherapy and started inserting earphone to move my body. Slowly, I heal bed shore.
The body is instrument of mind. The mind uses the body to express itself. The body, in turn provides the mind or brain with the raw materials for its own use. And by classical dancing, I could fight both mentally and physically. I acquired memory and concentration. The muscular system, on the other hand, is not go out vague. It helps to endure and perform without starin. In classical dancing there is nonstop flow of nerve impulses into all the muscles and this result in extremely complex but graceful movements of a dancer. This grace has come out both physical and mental input to feel and to express something.

Dance and Healing: A study or introspection




Healing: An Insight of Dance
LETS HEAL US, LETS HEAL THE WORLD, AND LETS HEAL THE SELF.

ody is the sole importance of Dance. And healing is the core of Dancing. Healing is also known as also referred in the context of the grieving process. Healing can be understood as going into a concentration. While dancing, we do not only enjoy our bodily curve but also release our terrors and confusions as a form of destructions from our mind. We cannot throw them so easily too but we can dissolve them taking them out as an outlaw. Similarly we also release laughter so as to replace extreme happiness in our day to day life. We perform Dance similar as to perform rites and ritual, marriages or social ceremonies even exhibiting art work where body is used. The physical and the intent are curved to a body with positive reflection and deflection. Unlike the thoughts and skills, we may shape and curve any solid matter into an art piece. It becomes a piece of art work. It is same as Dance technique where body curves and gestures indicate a specific thought with a skill. Involvement in an emotion and concentrations in a rhythm are the basic teachings of dance lessons. It’s a skill and technique by which a dancer needs to involve so that she can combine together her body and mind into one constant thought. But in reality it is very difficult to merge these two. Body is unaware of many things until and unless the mind instructs the body to curve a shape. The more you deeply involved in the stories of Dance, less you think about the happenings in between the dance and more you excite about the ending part of it.
Culture is always barrier to support your insights as it is reverse to human nature. It is the ‘taboos’ which bound us about ‘do’s and ‘do not’s and justify social norms in a culture. And it is the Culture which helps to absorb against longings and make us socially acceptable and adaptable at least in a group of people. Notwithstanding, innumerable problems are at door steps and always hit us to justify the right and most convenient way to solve out. Culture, which is men made discourse, is indeed a complex hole!! It is in that sense of including all the Folklore with practice. There are many obstacles in our day-to-day life. Some are big and some are undefined and some are unsolved. When there is no way out to solve a problem, it’s wise to heal them. But what is this healing and how to do this? Is it a medicine or medicinal package which sort out all our conflicts, mental and therefore the physical disorders? Or, is it an examination by which body will be detected by any diffluent? Or, whether it is an exercise by which you will be mentally fit forever?? Or either a way to survive a life?
Now, it is the Dance which teaches us to learn the body very well- love the body, except the body and release the tiredness of the body? Yes, the phillosphy of dance teaches this to us. The teaching of invocation to Moksha in a dance lesson is very helpful to proceed in a without any expectation. And it is the Dance, which cognates this body into the mind. The mind accepts the tiredness of the body. Dancing along with a concentration is indispensible to reflect the mingling of mind and body. This is, I would like to say as ‘Healing’-the technique and the procedure through which you can curve your body most efficient and elegant way to settle the mind concerned. In other words, the mind is also settled around towards a positive and better around.
It’s so happened that while dancing, the mind got diverted from the outer world-entire being is involved into a point and that is how able to develop curve at the body. Exercises also have curve and benefits but Dances have emotions with the curve of the body. And hence Healing is achieved with the help of both body and emotions. Healing is a remedy to come back to a normal state as we come across extreme emotional stages in our day to day life. In this context, Dance is realized as an art because of its curving concept, an entertainment because of the openness of the body and also a therapy because of its healing attitude. A dancer experiences healing and she may also become a Healer by transferring the knowledge of Dance in a more implicit but traditional way. Therefore, it can be seen that traditional Dancers and traditional dancing are more powerful in its practices and deliver.
Earlier, the Healer therefore preferred meditation to divert and control self to solve disorders. It is all about divert your attention to a different angle and then dissolve them at one point in your body or mind or both. On the other hand, it can also be tried to release the energy from the body to regain more energy into the mind and so the body. Bodily energy do not follow mind, it helps to stand a body and the mental energy helps to curve the body. Dance as a bodily art and artistic communication, it communicates a matter. So, the energy level is released as emotion. The communication created by the Dance received responds as a form of ‘Clapping’ which also symbolizes acceptance. Clapping is the ultimate communication while accepting a performance. This is actually a behavior we found out of a performance piece at a performance area. As a non verbal communication, Dance has been observed that limbs, eyes, neck, head, torso etc. all are as essential communications to release a complete emotion. Releasing emotion is said as Abhinaya or ‘to enact’ a character or nature in art performance. Whereas emotions are highly advised to control in Indian society, this actually helps the society to grow culturally. This is actually a reflection of their practices as a form of either ritual or an art form. More or less, the artistic practice by a single artist indicates the emotional fights against a social norm or dilemma. Dance may define an outer beauty of the body. But beauty of realizing emotions in a rhythm in dancing feet has the accuracy to fulfill your wants and longings. This is how the concept of experiencing ‘Rasa’ is!! Dancing is not only dancing the body but also transforming the self aftermath where the dancer turns into a different being. As if she embodies a different entity into her body and this involvement finally welcome a tiresome body. This is actually not only taking the tiredness but also releasing the problems out of the body. The sweating is your satisfaction or symptoms of release. You feel cool and calm insight the body and so the mind. The process of Healing thus has been occupied. This effectiveness actually helps the mind to heal the problems insight. Otherwise why our elders say ‘be strong’ even if you are physically unfit to stand! It’s a belief now that you can raise yourself on ‘any belief’ although people criticize about belief is not a belief to be believed rather a superficiality to ignore!! That is why belief is relieve may not be reality.
Healing can be looked as transforming self into another being and apply the energy further to get realize the power. For eg. Deodhani- a shamanistic practice of Assamese ritual is actually embodied the spirit from traditional verse with the help of singing and dancing. This is a verse of beyond life and death and struggle between truth and victims.  She has tremendous involvement into the stories and also considered as healer, fortune teller, shamanist etc. She is therefore also said as sacred woman who is not necessarily to be a social being but dedicated to the welfare of the society. In other words, she is dedicated to the social welfare considering her as the most unsocial being whose livelihood is totally depended upon the power of god. For instance, while the malevolent power increases, the Deodhani has a lot to do.
Performing dance definitely is a self-imbibe of inner shyness, open up division of mind and increasing body resistance. To involve into an emotion without any bodily obstacles is the ultimate realization of a dancer. Dance cannot improve your body defect but it may help your bodily resistance and absorption. During a field visit of a ritual in the year 2008-09, it has been observed that the ritual specialist acted like an experienced healer. She was confident about the supernatural world and her presence into that world with conversations with few animals. This is quite an unnatural. And accepted as power of the shaman. She is at trances by which her entire being is on the process of healing. Now this may be either accepting or protesting the happenings as a sole experienced of power by her From powerless to power, its being an extraordinary trance state by which she won’t harms others rather becomes a problem solver in a more constructive way. It’s noteworthy that she can solve a problem only in the state of trance during the ritual period and periphery. Hence it can be argued that this involvement leads the dancer to heal self as well as the other by various hand to hand performances at the ritual space. This is so happened that she could divert herself into the epic-character and release the emotion aftermath and come back to a normal life. Frequent changes of emotions are actually helpful sometimes to acquire more space in the mind and so the body.
The body and mind have two different routes of acceptance and understanding. This healing is using the body to settle a mind by absorption and dedication. It is also believed that she is dedicated too deep to absorb all the troubles to solve out for the well being of her society. With the help of singing on her back by few choral singers, the Deodhani actually gets into a divine zone of power and prosperity and this defines her state as a trance state and extremely capable to heal self and solve others problems-either physical or mental.
What happens in Dancing is that body movements often go along with a hand gesture or a posture. If ‘Alapadma’ a gestural connotation signifies ‘a half opened flower’, here actually a dancer diverts her mind from fingers to gesture and deeply involved in the subject i.e., lotus and its connection to the subject. In other words, in dancing, it is diverted the mind into the visual of a flower and gradually a dancer falls over that emotion. This is how, involvement transform into a separate being. Healing may not completely reduce your entire problem. But diverting and later converting those into much a constructive way of thought or resemblance becoming much help directly the body to accept and activate. It gradually develops concentration.
Rules are mandatory to prospect any work smoothly either a doctoral or an aptitude test. Any cognitive writing therefore always helpful to proceed any task. At the same time we are to define our body very well. Both the body and the mind need power to nurture. You may provide food as an indispensible supplement to the body to survive. But, powers of digestion, power of immunity, power of absorption are the requirements too to the survival of the body and so the mind.
Healing is a silent phenomenon to the body. It’s an outcome of an action or reaction which absorbs both good and bad towards the body. And then evolve a powerful mind and fighting spirit to dissolve the degradation of all sorts. As mentioned above, to reduce or to fight the chaos of any kind develop from self may find the Dance or dancing as a healing to survive. A dance of aggression, a dance of suppression, a dance of peace etc. are all dances of healing the insights-to reach a balance of both body and mind. The cultural barrier and a single philosophy disturb within you but let’s Dance be the best healing to overcome our hurdles and live beyond than we imagine ourselves!!
 Let’s move the body, let’s do something artistic way, let’s Dance and heal ourselves, let’s achieve power this way to survive, Let’s fall on healing. Let’s dance be the best healing and source of inspiration to live and to be lived !!!
